Eddie got a flat, took it in to get fixed, and the guy hit him with a line he'd never heard: "It'd be illegal for me to fix this, your tread's too low… but I can interest you in four new tires." Eddie smelled a scam and walked out. Then a caller who knows the tire business calls in to set the record straight: it's actually legit. Shops check all four tires for tread depth because below a certain point it's genuinely not safe (or legal) to put you back on the road, and yes, that sign in the lobby is real. Eddie remains… unconvinced.
