John Morgan tells Bobby Bones the almost-too-crazy-to-be-true story of how he got discovered. While he was working at Lucky Brand and taking trips to Nashville, he and a friend caught an Uber one night and got to chatting with the driver, a songwriter who'd been in town 15 years. They parted ways, no numbers exchanged, nothing. Then about eight months later, that same Uber driver randomly walked into John's store. They reconnected, started writing songs over Zoom, and a few songs in the guy pulled in his longtime writing partners, who turned out to be Jason Aldean's bandmates Kurt Allison and Tully Kennedy. That's how Aldean's camp found him. The lesson? Always tip your Uber driver.
